Whether you joined us at our Annual General Meeting in person or online, MCIS would like to thank you for celebrating with us! The night started with an excellent introduction by our Chairman, Shash Anand and a moving speech from our Executive Director, Latha Sukumar. Language Advocacy Day 2023

Language Advocacy Day 2023 is on its way!

Sponsored by MCIS and hosted by Language Access Coalition of Canada, Our Language Rights – Canada Conference 2023 will take place on Feb. 22-23, 2023. This year, the Conference will "explore the important role of language education and storytelling in preserving culture and history, fostering a sense of belonging and creating deeper human connections."

Registration opens in January. Stay tuned for more details!

– MCIS Featured in SDG Local Impact Report

Recently, thanks to the work MCIS has been undertaking as a part of their social purpose initiative, we have been featured on SDG Cities as an example of SDGs' local impact.

The Sustainable Development Goals (or SDGs), adopted by the United Nations in 2015, are a universal call to action to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. All 193 members of the United Nations are signatories of the SDGs.

The 17 goals, 169 targets, and 232 indicators that make up the SDG framework take into account the interconnectedness of development and the need to strike a balance between social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

As a social enterprise with a deep commitment to social purpose, MCIS worked to align its existing social impact reporting to the SDGs. The SDG Impact Report was produced by our Social Impact Team in collaboration with SDG Cities.

Homeless Connect Toronto 2022

MCIS returns to the Homeless Connect Toronto event!

This year at HCT9, MCIS has gladly helped 787 guests who are at risk of or already experiencing homelessness to connect to over 65 essential services a human needs for survival. We appreciate the invitation from Homeless Connect Toronto; it was a fantastic opportunity for us to give back to the community and collaborate with other businesses and organisations who share our values and goals.  We are looking forward to participating again next year!
